The breakaways are amazing!
the pics dont do it justice at all, they are formed from massive werrosion with only the hardest rocks remaing, forming huge ridges over the deasert, you can see for miles!
The heat is unbearable (its still winter!) and the flys are terrible here, still the views are well worth it and we had an hour walk accross viewpoints to see all sides of the valley - it was reall good.
On the drive down we took some pictures of the dog fence which is a massive fence accross the whole of South Australia to keep the Dingles out as they eat the sheep and cattle. its not impressive sounding but looking at it on a map sure gets your attention - it is the largest fence in the world afterall
We then drove 75km to a roadside stop north of Coober Pedy on the Stuart Highway.
The Stuart Highway is the road which our entire trip is based, there is Stuarts well, stuarts highway, Stuarts Creek, Stuarts Ridge, Stuarts Island, Stuarts Ranges - really, EVERYTHING you could think of - its cool being a Stuart here!
The stop was uneventful but so peaceful again with only the sound of very infrequent cars to break the complete scielence - amazing.
