The locals all have weird growths, nasty pertruding rotting teath but are the nices people you could hope to meet - weird.
We crised into the garage with Vicks seriously unbhappy, bunnyhopping along, there is also a really worrying banging coming from the engine under the passangers seat, i'm sat there minding my own business and something forces the seat up with quite an explosion, its really not safe! - the garage happened to be part of the same chain Fabrice got the van serviced from back in Adelaide so they agreed to see it today even with a massive backlog which is lucky - I really wouldnt want to be stuck here overnight.
On way to Port Augusta
Im getting into vegetarianism again - seeing how it goes, not making any commitments as I know as soon as I see a Kangaroo on the menu or something I will be digging in!
When we got into town we had a coffee, a subway and a much needed haircut. The weather is misserable along with my mood - I thought Oz had good weather!?
The haircutting guy was from Manchester and actually chose to live in this nasty town 9each to their own), he was a really nice guy. After the haircut and many wanderings up and down the same street Fabrice got a gas lantern for the long pitch black evenings and we used the free internet in the library. Just as we finished up there fabrice got a call to let him know the van was ready - great timing, I was just about to start pulling my hair out!
We walked over the river to the garage and they had done a fair bit of work which ended up costing Fabrice another $300 on top of the $700 he paid a couple of days ago - ouch! Lets hope the van is all good for our outback experiance!!!!
now we are back up the mountain to our favorite lookout - Handcocks Lookout.
