We drove upt o Handcocks lookout near Wilmington in a long drive from the Barossa Valley.

The grass is so green and the land is so flat! It is really picturesque thougha nd the roads are so long and so straight it is amazing! Wilmington its self is just a small town and on the way here, coupled with the banging of the backfiring exhaust we now have a banging under the seat which forces the passangers chair up! CANT BE GOOD! Also vicks coughs and splutters herself along and it has only been 2 days since her last service!!!!!!!!

Handcocks lok out is amazing, we cruised up to it not expecting much and were faced with jaw droppingly lovely views - it was absolutly stunning!

We played chess, drank some of the nice wine Fabrice had bought and spent the evening chatting to 2 Aussie girls from Perth who had driven over. they were sleeping in a tent and it was amusing when the weather took a turn for the worse and they had to crawl into their tent and Fabrice and I had the luxury of our slightly battered van.

We spent the evening playing cards and drinking nice port which was home made and it was a nice evening as I had someone else to speak 2 that wasnt Fabrice! Although one of the girls, although funy, just talked, and talked, and talked and talked - I was happy to go to sleep in the end.

It was a FREEZING cold night, with heavy winds and Vicky held up to it well, inside the van it wasnt too bad and we put a light on that plugs into the cigarette lighter which could have lit the whole of Tokio - it was like some alien craft landed in the field - we attracted nasty flying insects from all over Oz!

In the moring we decided to drive onto Port Augusta, this is the last sizeable town on the way north to sort Vicky out - the weather has taken a turn for the worse so it is probably the best thing to do.
