The Great Ocean Road is as nice as its ment to be - which is pretty damn nice! we left pretty early and took a leasurly drive along the coast - eventually ariving in Portland for the night.
The drive its self along the GOR is stunning, amazing cliff edges of limestone, crazy arches of rock with the ocean beating against them, all sorts of kangaroos, wallabies etc etc (some alive, some dead on the road) - it is really nice. The weather brightened up for us at the perfect moment - just as we got to the most photographed part of the road - the 12 Appostles (you can prob see by our pics why it is the most photographed point). Towering rocks rising out of the sea - it is truly remarcable.
We walked a fair bit to take in a blowhole, 'London Bridge' (an arch which does actually look a bit like the bridge) and a grotto
We pulled up to a camp site about 5 ish as the sun was going down for chess, wine and sleep but there was an abandoned car there, unlocked, bright read, walking cane in the window and no one to be seen - except the police who had a look every couple of hours. Fabrice was paranoid and I dont think he enjouyed it too much when I went investigating around the car in the dark but all worked out alright for us - not sure about the dude in the car though!!!
So Fabrice slept rubbishly worrying and I slept well again. Tomorrow we are heading up the coast as much as possible so we can get to adalade for the AFL game we have just booked up to watch on Saturday Lunchtime.
