The drive to Te Anau is amazing with snow capped mountains all around. They are only around 2,000m but they jet out opf the ground at such steep angles they look increadible! There are loads of sheep down here and a fair few deer.

Te Anau is a small town where most people arange trecks etc from. There is very little here and as there was no choice we had to book a bus boat combo which takes to and from the start/end of the trecks for a whoping $150! No choice though really! We bought a safety beacon in case of distress, the guys hired shoes, I hired polypropelane trousers and waterproof trousers and a map and then we got an early night in preperation for our treck. We are all kitted up and all fooded up and ready to rock!

P. S Its even more freezing now! Snow is definatly falling on the mountains!
