Well, I made it!
The flight was all ok, it was even 4 hours less than I thought!
I got on, watched a shity film, listened to the Radiohead album, went to sleep, woke up and we were landing in Auckland!
Ackland is like England. Its wet, gray, the architecture is the same, busses are the same - really everything..... is the same!
I met 2 guys coming into the centre who I may be sharing a campervan with to get around New Zealand - its necessary because NZ is SO rediculously expensive - Beer, food costs more than England!
Ive been hanging around with Fabio, an Italian on holiday in New Zealand living in Sydney - he has hopefully lined me up with a job when I get to Aus which is fantastic! Yesterday we went out for a big night out, many drinks and lots of live music and it was a nice night. Today we took a boat out to a nearbye Island and walked for 6 hours in the pooring rain - it still didnt spoil the day though - this Island was amazing! It sprang out of the sea in the form of a Volcano 600 years ago and the whole thing is ash - we climbed through a lava tunnel and walked around seeing the whole place, we then had to wait for the ferry for an hour and a half in the freezing cold.
Fabio has been cooking amazing food for us and im learning loads from him. So now, fingers crossed about the campervan and then everything should be good!
6/5/05
I met Lee and Dean and we have sorted out a campervan - or should I say a Spaceship! It is Orange, is good for 2 people and we are craming 4 in it including some other English guy.
Fabio has very nicely given me his phone, shaving foam and shower gel as we are both leaving Auckland today. His job has some new contract and he is really excited to go back to Sydney for it. We met a Welsh girl and a crazy (literally) Aussie girl - she was SO weird and liked Fabio quite a bit me thinks. We ate a nice meal the 4 of us and then watched a really old film on the TV. Fabio and I had a big night on the town which wasnt too eventful as it was just like a night out in the UK, other than this Auckland was cool but there isnt a huge amount of things to do.
Dean, Lee and I got the Campervan but the 4th member (Edd) isnt back yet so we took a little trip to Davernport - a nice pleace the other side of the water from Auckland where you get an amazing view of the skyline - it is very nice. The weather was great and the views were magnificent. We drove past a place called Cheltenham in our bright orange spaceship and then arived back in Auckland at 4pm, just in time to pick Edd up, grab a cheap tent and depart for Coromandel - a place Dean and Lee want to go to. So off we go!
I will hopefully be meeting Fabio when I get to Sydney and now

We are also going to buy a tent though and rotate so we all get the pleasure of sleeping in the freezing cold every other night.Fabio has very nicely given me his phone, shaving foam and shower gel as we are both leaving Auckland today.
