I knew it would happen!
ive been here for ages and all ive done is play loads of chess!
On day one I went down there but it was cold, rainy and no one playing chess but everyother day ive gone down there and stayed down in the central plaza playing chess against old geezers with loads of people waching every move I make - I love it!
Im so addiced it was 9pm, i´m desperate for the toilet - its seriously cold and everyone is shivering but im still setting the pieces up for another battle! I played a guy who should be a grand master - I remember him from the 1s time I came to Santiago and he saw me beaing this other guy and played chess with me for the next 4 hours - he usually anhialaed me but I did win one - I learned a lot from him
Today I leave for Auckland and was going to fill the time in my usual fashion but I was rudly stopped by armed police watergunning protesters on the street - I gad to run to get away from the gas filled water they were drenching anyone and everyone with! Quite an experiance!
There is a nice Ozzie dude here and ive been chatting with a nice Canadian/English couple and a couple of Chechs but other than chess and fast food ive done nothing! The weather has been rubbish and has lead to my lack of productivity but today is glorious - seems a shame to leave.
Quantas messed me around a bit with the flights - they said changes have been made but according to LAN Chile (the actually flight compabny for my flight today) all is well - Im heading off at about 6pm to try and avoid all the protesers - its May Day and its Crazy!
now an 18 hour flight to look forward to - any the worry if they are going o let me on the plane!!!!!

Some of the serious chess dudes I played
. I also got beaten by 3 seasoned pros bu lost 2 of them from time and the other justly - if I spent all my day playing like they do I know I would beat em!Today I leave for Auckland and was going to fill the time in my usual fashion but I was rudly stopped by armed police watergunning protesters on the street - I gad to run to get away from the gas filled water they were drenching anyone and everyone with!
