It is however, the easter holidays - the streets are dead. To such a point I wondered the centre of town for 4 hours or so and must have seen a total of 15 people. Also saw about 25 policemen dotted on the street courners - good they are there but bad they have to be there in the 1st place!
Its so quiet it is unbelievable - walking the empty streets of the centre lost its appeal after an hour or 2 but i did meet 6 other Brits!! 6!!!!! There was no one but 6 others in the hostel and it is quit unbelievable we are all from the same country. Ive spent most the time drinking and then recovering with them. Nice people but it makes me realise the good impact Sarah had on me with drinking. 6 hours of drinking - 18 hours of recovery - i really fellt like shit! I wont be doing that again for a while!!
I bought a load of cooking suplies to get me through good Friday - lucky I did, I ate well but my 6 British friends went hungry! The 1st night was out with 2 the British guys from Essex. Really good guys and I had an excelent night - so much so t was 4am when I 1st looked at my watch! We got back and I slept, next time I looked at my watch it was 4pm! I was in a state! Then the three of us met up with 4 others from Surrey/Southampton and we all went out but there was no where open. We gatecrashed a birthday party of a guy who must have been 20 or so. He had about 20 friends with him and it was clearly a gay party. The 7 of us collected on the sofas in a huddle, stayed for a drink or 2 then left. An interesting night!!
Then I shared a taxi with the 2 English guys as they left at 7am today. I was hoping for an early bus but I have to wait until12 for mine! Still, good for internet usage! Next stop Pedro Juan Caballero - a boarder town with Brazil.
