We hitched to Esquel in 3 hours. The journey its self took 1.5 hours and consisted of a ride out the centre 2km with a tour guide going home, a ride to the Customs of Chile in a mobile office with Mapuches providing a mobile financial service to the comunity, getting through the formalities with no problems, going with the mobile office to the Argentian Customs, getting through no problems and then getting a lift all the way to Esquel with a truck from Bariloche which had jus taken a load of tourists to the Chilian boarder. Easy!
We got to Esquel, went straight to the bus station and amazingly they have busses to our destination tonight - at 2am but the problem is it costs $70 for a 25 hour journey getting in at 3am - nasty! We have to do it though so we got some cash outof the atm and killed the day in Esquel by drinking coffee and reading. Amazingly the internet all closes at 11pm - everything else here seems to open about then! Now we have the 25h bus to look forward to to El Chalten
