alright, end of story....for now, sorry about how fragmented it was, i'm in a bit of hurry, and have been sitting at this slow cambodian internet for about an hour already : ) two more weeks just about. i'm justgettingintothe swingofthis travelling bit and now its time to come home : ( lol. i've been thinkinga bout postponingmy return and travelling a bit longer but it probably won't end up happening.
The trip from Phuket to Bangkok was tough. I'm writing this entry about4 days after the fact, if it was fresher in my mind i'd probably use some more choice words. We left Phuket at 11am on a minibus that made an hour worth of stops in town before we even got on our way. the mini bus dropped us off somewhere in the middle of surat thani, thailand, with no explanation what we were supposed to do, what bus to wait for, when it was coming, who to talk to at this place; they didn't even give us our onward ticket. (We had paid for the whole trip back in phuket) this turned out to be the worst part of the trip, the mini bus was actually quite nice, but from here we were carted around to three different locations before they finally told us they only had room for 2 people on "the" bus. I stayed behind, and was carted around to two more locations (each locationwas like human backpacker smuggling rings...a bunch of tired, most european looking kids, withtheir back packs and exhausted confused facingwaiting for the all knowing thai "travel agents" to give us some real information.) finally at around 8:00pm I boarded a bus and arrived in bangkok at 5am. luckily right before we got split up, kerry gave me the location and phone number of her thai friend that we were going to meet up with. I took a taxi to the wrong place, asked what seemed like 100 people for help to find this place and called her contact at 7am, 8am, and 9am, askig if she had heard yet from kerry and dave. after findingthe hospital we were supposed to meet at which was right down the road from where we were goig to stay, i hung out at the little coffee shop inhospitalfor like 2 hours, thinking i'd never see them again! finally at around 10am they came walking up as i was reading my book inthe hospital lobby. their bus hadn't gotten in till 8am then they had thesame troublefindingthe hospital like i did. things could've been worse though, at least the hospital was air conditioned and none of us didnt' have to pay any more money to get the bus to bangkok even though we didn't have any actual tickets.....all we had were these little generic stickers on our shirt saying "bangkok" haha
