. i hurried back to the beach, after urinating furtively on my fingers...just in case....i know its disgusting but it hurt and i thought maybe it was a poisonous...and accumulated more cuts on my feet. once back at the room i got out the trusty swiss army knife and started cutting away at my finger to get out the spines. i successfully got them all out save a really small piece in my index fingertip. kerry tried to needle out the last little bit but it proved to be too deep and she would've had to really dig deep. i read up on some similar stories and most people had now problem with very small pieces being left in. its been find so far and the cuts on the feet are healing quickly. : )

After four nights in Krabi, we moved on by ferry to Phi Phi Don. Phi Phi was an interesting place. It was a lot bigger than the small portion that consists of the main town. I don't think there were any cars on the island. all the small people roads were made from pavers that were laid in diamond shape designs. there were plenty of places to eat and lots of guesthouses. i had a little unfortunate escapade on the beach the first day. after sitting on the beach and reading for about an hour and a half, somewhat "tanning" for 10 minutes at a time, and a few quick treks into the water which was only bout 2 feet deep, i decided it was time to venture out past the football field length reef and get into the deep water. after about 50 yards i realized why all the people were content to just to sit in the 2 deep hot water bath; the rest of the way was slow going because of the unavoidable sometimes sharp coral. After a few small cuts on my feet i made it to the nice water but upon returning my hand barely rubbed against an urchin and the three spins effortlessly broke off in my fingers
