I made it on the ferry and sat at a table out on one of the decks. The girl sitting with me became my friend for the next 5 hours. Ashley, an Aussie girl living in Greece half the year. She´s this beautil little blonde girl who looks like Cameron Diaz. When we would get up to walk somewhere, every man on the entire deck would turn their head to stare at her. It felt like i was walking around with a celebrity for real, i asked doesn´t that bother you having people stare at you all the time. she doesnt really notice it. I guess you block it out after a while, i dunno! When she first got on the boat one of the crew told her there was storage in another room and took her there and it was his room and proceded to get her to kiss him! Creep! I couldn´t believe it when she told me that, so i said i wouldnt let her walk around alone lol but she went to the bathroom at some point and there he was, he followed her in there!! There were also 2 Greek guys at our table that mysterious appeared wherever we went. When we were getting off the boat they were right there and asked us about 5 times in broken English if we wanted to go to coffee, she´s very sweet and polite (and naive) but she actually had to get a little rude at that point. We finally got them to go away. Relentless! Anyhow, Her boyfriend is the owner of Club Paradise at Paradise Beach!! I learned all about how the clubbing business works, wow, megga bucks!! It was very interesting, and the amount of money one of the apparent world famous dj´s makes, well it´s disgusting and that you can buy a decent car with the money he makes in 2 hours.
When we arrived at the port i made my way to the Sepolia metro station where i would be meeting my host, George, whom i met through Couchsurfing at the beginning of the trip. He is 26 and plays the drums for the Greek Army. Through emails i could tell he would be easy to talk to with a good sense of humor. After dropping my things off at the apartment, we took a quick cab ride to find this Chinese restaurant, but it was closed. So we had a nice Greek dinner, my last one! We really only had a few hours together unfortunatly because he had to leave for work at 7am. But it was another good experience , Couchsurfing is an awesome project and i hope to use it more in the future and also be able to host some people myself someday soon!
