Finally I made it out of Paros! It was still really windy and the boat probably should have been canceled again, but I was very grateful that it wasnīt! Actually the first one that i booked was, so i waited around for a couple more hours and luckily we were able to take off. While hanging out one of the hotel owners who had talked to me the first day trying to get me to stay at his place started to chat with me again, in case i got stuck for another night.. he was very friendly and i had mentioned i was staying with a friend in Drios and he said Ellen? He knew her! So a friend of Ellens iīm sure i could trust then and he also mentioned heīd show me around and show me the real Paros if i stayed another day.
Anyway, so it was a quick ferry ride over to Mykonos.  This island has the reputation of being the party island and although i donīt really care about that whole scene i was hopeful that there would be at least something going on this late in the season Mykonos town
Mykonos town

I was greeted by a group of room owners at the port and a lady got my attention and a French couples and off we went to her accomodation. For 20 euro i got my own little bugalow type of place, very nice!  Although it was about a 15 minute walk into town along one of the many old narrow roads with no sidewalks so whenever a car goes by you gotta smash yourself up against the wall and make yourself as small as possible and pray you donīt get hit.  Especially scary at night!!
I spent the afternoon in Mykonos town, wadering around the maze of little streets of shops, restaruants, bars, cafes, etc..  i saw the famous pelicans that i had scene on the travel channel!  The just walk all over town, arenīt afraid of people at all. i wanted to pet one but was afraid to, those beaks looked big and strong enough to at least take a finger off.
I went to an internet cafe and asked the girl working there regarding suggestions on what to do at night. She said the Scandanavian bar and said īweīll be there!ī Alright that was good enough for me.  I went back to my room and was feeling tired and decided not to go out, no one really goes out here till 12, 1...  very late!!  So i took a shower and got into bed and was watching the movie Save the Last Dance.  Well theres a scene in a club and it looked like fun and i said ok iīm going out now! harbor church

!  So i started getting ready and out i went.  I stopped first to have a late dinner of spaghetti carbonara and a beer.  The man at the table behind me told the waiter to bring me another one but i politely said no thank you because i was leaving. He was a nice local who gave me some tips on beaches to visit.
I found the Scandanavia bar and sat at the bar and ordered a beer. I was going to have one and if nothing was going on i was going back to bed.  But not long after the girls from the internet cafe walked in. Karen and Nicole from Sydney, they had been living and working in Greece for a month or so, and mostly survived on tequila.  Itīs a crazy existance living in Mykonos, nothing but partying every night, I donīt know how they do it! All the drink is shots because there cheaper! We sat at the tables outside for a while and soon had a group of people, its the kind of small place where everyone knows everyone. We went in the club and they all danced up on the stage, not me, it takes a whole heck of a lot to get me to dance and i was far from that point! I spent most of the night with Andrew, a US Army Captain fom Texas. No Greek boys again!  Who knows what time I got to sleep, but got up at noon and took the bus to Paradise Beach. I ran into the girls again and we had lunch together and then spent the afternoon laying on the 4 euro lounge chairs you gotta rent.  I didnīt even say goodbye to them, we were walking out and i said hey im going to get some ice cream and they said ok but kept walking, wierd.
The last day i sent some more time around the harbor and then had the hotel owner drop me off at the port a couple of hours early, because you know iīm paranoid now about things leaving without me!

beautiful...
Now this is a place I would like to visit! Love the pictures and your new boyfriend with the leash, (we didn't know you were into that kind of thing KK) I couldn't handle the tequila though , that stuff turns me into a different person, and the next day I am worthless... Good Vodka is my friend! Keep on having fun, Hugs to you, Annie
