Hey All,
Made it to London all in one piece!! Only got a little bit lost trying to find the hostel but it was the crappy directions, not me of course!! It felt good to be back here, a familar feeling of sites, sounds and smells.. people all in a frenzy rushing around everywhere your liable to get knocked over if ya don't pay attention!  Made my way to the hostel and found Katie in our room waiting for me, so good to see her as well, it's so much easier to get back into the travel mode when  you start the trip off with a familar face!  I couldn't wait to take a shower and spent half of it in the dark until i finally found the light!  The room is co-ed and there was a Aussie guy named Al in there and we chatted with him while getting ready so we felt we should invited him out with us, a little bit of a strange guy, kind of quiet, and ordered orange juice with his spaghetti!! Who ever heard of such a thing! haha.   It was our first night out so we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner, we went to an Italian resturant in Covent Garden and it was  was nice and i ordered a pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms, just a simple bowl of pasta for 10.95 ( double that to get the prices in dollars)  and Katie and i shared a bottle of wine.  I don't normally drink like or paticularly like it, but this one was really nice and went well with the meal.  So after blowing our budget on dinner we went looking for a bar with cheap drinks.  We found one with some specials going on and had a couple there but the crowd was filled with youngin's so we hit the road. Wouldn't you know we passed a casino and if you know me then  you know me and my obsession with slot machines , so i dragged them in to check the place out and they made us register, take a photo and get a card just to get inside!  We had a look around and i put 5 in one machine and i think i got 3 or 4 rounds and it was gone in a matter of seconds!!  So that was enough of that!!!  We left and i vowed not to go to another casino in England! After that we decided just to go back to our hostel as they have a pretty good bar there. We met an insanely crazy dancer named Shuart or somethign like that from the Netherlands, wow we'd never scene moves like that!! I made a short video clip but it mysteriously dissapeard from my camera. ( which i have managed not to lose yet thankyouverymuch)  But he was a lovely guy anyway even though a bit of a dweeb, he and Katie got on well.  Also met an ex-army guy from Michigan named Mark who i hung out with most of the night. The hostel also has a hot tub up on the roof, we didn't go in but we sat up there, they were having a bbq up there tonight but we didnt make it.
Made it to bed around 4 am and managed to get up at 8 and we were up and out by 930. The hostel has a free breakfast, the basic cerial toast coffee juice milk deal.  We walked across the London Bridge and around Westminster, Katie showed me the building she'd soon be working at, but we couldn't have a look in as you need security cards to go through several doors.  We check out St. Pauls Cathedral and Westminster Abby, I was really only intersted in seeing them just to see where Princess Diana was married among other cerimonies, and also see the graces of some famous people.  While walking around the area there was some big gathering and gospel singers and I had a good time singing along to Oh Happy Day ( learned it from Big Mama's House lol )  There were tv crews around but we didn't know what the fuss was about. Apparently Nelson Mandela was there! A shame we missed it because I read his biography. (ok so i read half of it)
Lots of monuments around, most of them say somethign like 'so and so once stood here'  oooo  whooopeee!!  It was a nice day, didn't rain on us just a bit overcast. Walked along the river Thames, picked up some lunch at Greggs, some pasties and chips, and ate our lunch in the park across the street from Buckingham Palace.  After about a half an hour rest it was time to get back on the road and we made our way over to Harrods.  If you havn't heard of this place , look it up, it is the King of all department stores, absolutely gorgeous and you mostly likely couldn't afford a thing. But it's filled with everythign you can possibley imagine and want, they have everything!!  We bought 2 candies and some nuts just so we can say we went shopping at Harrods! haha.  After things we were really dragging but we managed to make it over to the British museum, I had already been there but there were 2 things i wanted to see but i couldn't for the life of me remeber what they were. So we walked through it about half dead and called it a day and went back 'home'.  My friend Gary met us at the hostel, i had traveled with him in New Zealand on the Kiwi Experience so it was great to see him again! Such a guenuinly nice person.  We said theres no way we are gonna walk all over searching for a place to eat, but every place we walked by it wouldn't do for some reason. We finally settled on a bar/rest. across the river, good prices.  We order our food and are sitting at the table and the waitres comes out in a panic telling me my money isn't REAL!!! I'm like what do you mean!! I got it out of an ATM at the airport !! They said both of my 20 notes were fake!! couldn't believe it. So Katie paid for that and i was upset over it and worried but they quickly cheered me up again.  We used them at another bar with no problems. I was too scared so they paid for me lol.   We had such a busy day we reckon we walked about 14 miiles if not more!!! Our feet are screaming with pain!! It's so much walking here thats just a part of everyday life (mom u'd die!!) We are in and out of tube stations up and down stairs and walk walk walk !! I wonder how many calories we burned off... hopefully I'll  wake up skinny tommorow!! haha We are getting on just fine , the only real problem is that Katie has such a strong Liverpudlian accent that more than half the time i don't have a clue what she's say and she's got to repeat it once if not more!! Ok that's it for now, it's 1 am and we got to get up for a tour and neither of us want to miss another tour like we both did in New Zealand!!  Got the alarm set correctly this time!   I'll upload some pictures soon and write again soon!!
I love you guys, thank you for all your comments, I appriciate them so much, miss you!!
