Another long drive was ahead of us, but this one was even more spectacular than the last, as we crossed the Altiplano into Bolivia.

The scenery included beautiful moutain lakes (one of which was pink!), fantastic mountains, Llamas, flamingos, etc, etc. This time the altitude peaked at 5,000m asl - for some bizarre reason the Bolovian customs chose the highest point they could find to put their offices! This time the altitude had a different effect, and made me go all spaced out a giggly. It was great!

We arrived into Uyuni covered in dust and glad of a warmish shower, even if it was just a dribble! The beds in Bolivia are huge, which is confusing considering most Bolivians are quite small in stature...

The following day we all took jeeps out onto the salt lake, taking silly pictures, fishing for salt crystals and taking in the train graveyard, a salt hotel and fish island on the way.
