BAGS OUT AT 6 A.M.!!
And that is how our day began!  But what a day we had.  It was a beautiful, sunny day when we met the rest of our tour group.  There are 37 of us traveling together.  David is the youngest and we are not the oldest by a long shot (kind of in the middle)!  Lots of nice people.     Mom and Dad at breakfast

Becca our tour guide for the land portion has just graduated from Indiana and is very organized and fun.  We boarded the Alaskan Railroad on the new Holland Cruise Line domed cars for our 8 hour trip to Denali.

David took photos for 6 of those hours, a total of 331.  Now how do you pick which ones to show?   David in position for photography

We went through Wasilla where Sarah Palin lives.  What a coincidence that she announced her resignation today.  The Walmart in Wasilla also has the claim of selling the most Duct Tape of anywhere in the world.  The creativity out of necessity of Alaskans!!  The town where Sarah Palin lives

We had a great time going through the countryside looking for moose, beaver dams, eagle, etc.  We saw the nests--one eagle,  dams--no beavers, heard lots of calls for moose but saw none. BUT BEST OF ALL WE SAW ALL OF THE DENALI RANGE. It was gorgeous.  The sun shining on it and the sky a clear blue.     Mt. Denali

We got a great photo of the train crossing Hurricane Gulch and the gorge as we crossed over.  It is called Hurricane Gulch because the winds can reach 100 mph. Hurricane Gulch

After reaching Denali we went once again to eat.  We are doing a lot of that!  Two meals on the train and a delicious halibut dinner to celebrate John's birthday. Have a blessed day.

It is early to bed tonight. We need to be out by 6:40 tomorrow!
