We have decided to head towards the West coast and cross the border from there.  With my protests falling on deaf ears, Paddy wants to hit up a beach town and perhaps try some surfing.  We're going to head to Mancora, Peru, and probably experience something similar to San Juan Del Sur, complete with damaged livers, no sex, and robbery.  For several weeks.

We arrive in the hot and dusty Manchala and find ourselves with a decision to make.  We're in time to make the night bus, which apparently people prefer, or we could wait it out and go first thing in the morning.  Considering this is a building site of a town, and in spite of extensive work to improve the centre's walkways, you can't polish a turd; I vote to leave.  Paddy is hesitant as he'd get the fear on the night bus and his arse has been playing up.  In the end he's convinced me to stay, so  we book into a Lonely Planet recommended hotel, and following a dodgy Chinese we fob off to homeless people, we faff around for the rest of the evening.  Tomorrow a new country awaits, with the promise of something I've wanted to see all my life; Machu Picchu.  Onwards.
