Entry 20 of 44 | show all | print this entry

I've spent five great days in Damascus. What a surprise the place has been. It's a huge city, and has all of the traffic and commotion of one, but inside of the walls of the old city, it takes on a completely different feel. It's really quite charming place in there - reminds me somewhat of the Old Quarter in Hanoi.

I ate a lot of great food, went to a 900+ year-old Hammam (bathhouse), and even managed to get into see the 70-female-musician orchestra for a special invitation only concert!

Anyhow, had a great time, but it's time to move on!
