We started our South Queensland Tour Friday, August 20th at Birra Burra Camp Site in the Lamington National Park, one hour west of Mermaid Beach, QLD (Queensland.)  Lamington National Park is part of the northern and north western remnants of the huge 23 million year old Tweed Volcano, centered around Mount Warning.  It was a beautiful ride up a narrow, winding, curvy, sometimes one lane road to the top.  Binna Burra is positioned 800 meters above sea level in the sub-tropical rainforest of Lamington National Park.  It was a bit chilly being up in the mountains, but the experience was worth it.
Saturday morning we woke up, made breakfast on our portable one eye gas cooker, then were off to explore the Coomera Circuit, which was a 12 km hike through dense rainforest with occasional small creeks and beautiful waterfalls.  Sunday we packed it up to move on to the next stop on our tour- Green Mountains.
