Yeah so not a right lot to say about delhi to be frank, the area i found myself staying in could of been a multitude of any capital city's traveller areas, Kings Cross in sydney, Camden in London, Khao San Road in Bangkok, ive been to 3 out of 4 thus far and the anonymity, cliches - "oh i converted to veganism two days ago dont you know, here let me lecture you on what a good citizen i am" he says whilst rocking a pair of leather nike sandals beneath his authentic indian traveller clown pants just dont get my juices flowing, quelle surprise.

Cynical me? not really, i guess i just bypassed the sixth form esque debates i found my self being unwillingly drawn into:

"Andre" - "oh well you just arent embracing mother india are you, i mean western clothes why, buy some indian ones, honestly since me and stefique and charles arrived last thursday (it was monday) we have denounced our capitalist ways and become at one with ourselves!" (blimey that was quick)

Me " Err...ok....Oh so did you fly here, with whom?"

Andre - "Oh yes Virgin airways smashing!"

Me - "Right......and thats a bottle of Coke your drinking there..."

Confused Andre - "Yes......?"

Suicidal Me - *sigh* "and you've got a blog like me right...so your using a IBM computer, with MICROSOFT windows when you type it up?"

Andre the giant of hypocrisy - "Yes....what are you getting at.........?"

Backing away slowly Me - ARGH! Nevermind eh.....

In a nutshell Delhi as you might of guessed wasnt for me, i didnt come here for the posturing, the masses of beggars conmen rickshaw commission based drivers etc etc, theres alot more to India than a small district of a capital city filled to the brim with people who seem to want to not actually go anywhere and revel in their own smugness.

I did see a few good spots around Delhi,  The place where Ghandi met his maker was interesting and filled with lots of interesting facts and tidbits, and there are plenty of peaceful and relaxing gardens that are sweeping in breadth and length, and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Oh right yeah, i had a stinking flu/nose/man flu the entire stay of my visit n'all, sure that didnt help either.

So it was with haste that i booked a train ticket to Armistar, capital of Punjab and home to the golden temple, considered by many as on a par with the Taj Mahal.

Il be visiting again to have another look before i leave, but sorry Delhi, Nil points from me!
