First things first. In the mornings, I check out my emails with the AT&T wireless, which I highly recommend as well as the AT&T phone for emergencies. I have always had a strong signal. I woke up this morning in my Hovel at 3:30AM, when my bed collapsed. I may complain, but overall, if you want an inexpensive room, the Star Motel is the place, at least the bed was a double but it took up 3/4 of the area, no joke.
While checking my emails, I received a message form Farmer Doyle, who stated that my prior entry, regarding his raisins was incorrect. Farmer Doyle grows for "Sun-Maid Raisin Growers Cooperative," and not for Sun-Kist, who grows Oranges, as well as produces canned Tuna. I am sorry about that.
Part of my activity is searching online for the equipment vendors, who provided me with my gear. I tried to get an email address for Giant Bicycles, and I was bumped to www.hoovers.com, (an A&B service). I browsed through the site out of curiosity and I stumbled onto an email address for Andy Giambruno. I had no idea about their services, so I contacted Andy at agiambruno@hoovers.com and received a prompt reply. Andy stated that, "(Hoovers) is designed to help organizations duplicate their best customers. Save time and grow revenue. There is nothing worse...than wasting time...(on the) internet for information that should be at their fingertips." I can see the value of their services, however during this writing, I received a phone call from a different salesperson. Looks like someone tried to jump over Andy for a sale?
I am getting ready to ride and the only thing I can say is that Sunblock does not work! I am really burned around my eyes and from the looks of outside, it is going to be another hot one. Getting coffee was easy this morning as a "Valero" service station is 2 blocks from the motel. They have good coffee and a typical selection of junk-food, soda's and beer. The typical mini-mart. The staff was very helpful, they all seem to know about the alleged "Delta Smelt." Does anyone reading have info on a sub-species? Ed hat do you say?
The staff was pretty cool and allowed me to pay $1. for a large coffee that should have been $1.39? I thought I had more change in my little pouch, and they chose to cover it instead of breaking a $100. I remember now, I had to use some of the change to pay for the room last night after the credit card fiasco. I must still be upset, because during my conversation with the 2 cashiers, both the white woman and the Hispanic woman knew, and completely understood the differences between my names.(Relax any overly sensitive people of color,I think that covers all the Races, I am Racially conscious, a big difference from a racist.) I hate all the over-sensitivity of some people, we are all in the same boat.
Welcome to all the new readers
Thanks, Steve
