Our family took a trip to Boston from June 29 until July 3, 2010. Boston is now one of our top 5 best cities to visit in the USA. Below was our daily itinerary:

Tuesday, June 29

-         Flew out of Charlotte, NC and arrived in Boston, MA just before 2 p.m.

ˇ         Ate at Jerry Remy's beside Fenway Park. The food was outstanding and was the perfect pre-game atmosphere for a ballgame.

ˇ         Went to see the Red Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays. Red Sox won.

ˇ         Left Fenway in the top of the 8th inning so that Greg and Reid could see the end of USC v. UCLA back at Jerry Remy’s. Gamecocks clenched the National Championship College World Series and my husband and son were ecstatic.

Wednesday, June 30

ˇ         Woke up between 5 and 7 a.m. each morning to walk around and see the city while the rest of my family slept in until noon

ˇ         We ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

ˇ         After lunch, we walked through Boston Common to see the Swan Boats on the lagoon at the Public Garden and then to the Frog Pond to watch Reid and other children play in the water.

ˇ         Greg and Reid went back to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore won.

ˇ         Julie and I went shopping in the Prudential Center, which has over 75 shops and resturants. We bought clothes at Express and Ann Taylor Loft.

ˇ         After shopping, we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Um…Um…Good!

Thursday, July 1

ˇ         Reid went with me on my walk this morning and we walked the Freedom Trail. He loved reading all of the tombstones in all of the burying grounds.

ˇ         Ate lunch at Uno Chicago Grill and then went on the 1:30 p.m. Boston Duck Tour.

ˇ         Ate dinner in North Boston at Florentine Café. The food was excellent.

Friday, July 2

ˇ         Ate breakfast at the hotel. Everything was delicious.

ˇ         Went on the whale watch tour with Massachusetts Bay Lines, Inc. We sailed on the "Massachusetts", which ship wrecked the next day. Six crew members and 168 passengers had to be evacuated. However, our tour was wonderful. We spotted 3 species of whales, Fin, Humpback, and Minke, along with dolphins, and tuna.

ˇ         Greg and Julie went back to the hotel. Reid and I went back to the Frog Pond.

ˇ         After the Frog Pond, Reid and I went to the Cheesecake Factory. He ordered the Oreo cheesecake and I ordered the New England clam chowder.

ˇ         Ate dinner at Dillon’s up the street from the hotel. The food was excellent, but the service was terrible.

Saturday, July 3

ˇ         Woke up early and toured Fenway Park. Then took the T, Boston’s subway, to Harvard Square to walk the campus, and then to the Freedom Trail to see the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill Monument.

ˇ         Took the T back to the hotel to check out to catch a 1:55 p.m. flight back to Charlotte.
