I spent most of today doing a free walking tour through Edinburgh. The city is surprisingly small. I am told it is a city of only around 600 thousand people, yet I am able to walk through half of the city in around 30 minutes. Like London, the city is full of beautiful buildings. The most of which, is the Castle. My tour guide showed some of the main buildings in the Old City of Edinburgh. He showed me the old town hall, and had a story for it that I can't remember already. He then led us past some more buildings of interest, and finally to the greyfriar cathedral. At the cathedral, he showed us some graves of interest. One being Greyfriar Bobby, a dog who stayed at his masters grave all night for 14 years, untill he also died. (Check him out, I got a pic of his memorial). The tour guide was awesome, and had some real good stories. He told of the stone of destiny, which is the Scottish coronation stone. He also told of how much the Scotts don't like the English. It is bunny that my English guide told me how William Wallace was the bad guy and Edward Longshanks was one of the best kings in English history, and that the movie Braveheart was "rubish". My Scottish guide said how he was the savior of Scottland, and called Edward a tyrant. He also said that Scottland may be an independant country in the not-to-distant future. After the tour I went and had some Scottish Haggis, which I'm told has some resembalance to hot dogs in their ingredience. It wasn't terrible, but then again, it wasn't great either. Other than that, I should have lots to do before my tour leaves on monday.

My smart nephew! Good for you!
I saw a tiny portion of Edinburgh in 2007 on my return from Prague.
I had tacked on a whirlwind Trafalgar bus Tour to my return ticket.
We covered England, Scotland and Wales in five days.
If you want to do Prague, I have an excellent contact.
