With a couple of days off work Johana and I headed for a few days to Alcossebre to relax. Nothing much happened, ...just as we wanted it. There was just enough time for a little excursion to pretty Peñíscola (about a 15 minutes drive further north from Alcossebre), a fortified seaport sometimes referred to as the Gibraltar of Valencia. All in all late September is probably one of the best times to visit this part of the world. There's not that many tourists around, the weather is usually warm and very nice and the water in the Mediterranean Sea is just perfect for a swim (or toe-dip).
