Today it is one year since I arrived in Madrid after my little spin around Latin America, and what else can I say than "time surely flies". I have moved from Pozuelo de Alarcón (close to the office where I work) and into the city. In fact I live a ten minutes easy stroll from Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. It is a zone I really like with plenty of good restaurants and bars. And of course, I still have not been to a Real Madrid match yet. Hopefully my younger brother makes it down here soon so he can drag me to a game again.

I have no idea for how long I will stay in Madrid. Before I came here I thought something like 12 to 18 months. After that the plan was somewhat to hit the road again. But now I don't know. I thoroughly enjoy Madrid and it's climate, work is pretty OK at the moment, I have got a few good friends, and most importantly, I have met someone pretty special to me (as you may have seen). So I will probably stay for a while. Not having been able to put aside enough money, also kind of limit my movements. I'll blame it all on the world class nightlife here in Madrid.

So i've jumped to now to ask you a question... at the start you said you didn't know what or how to pack ... you've been from tropical to snow (so far in my read) - how did you do that? tell me what you beleive the essentials are to pack pleeeease. er thanks.
