I have been back in my hometown Elverum, Norway, for five days now, after 467 days on the run. The planned vacation in Spain with my parents didn't happen due to family matters. My dear Grandmother died when I was in Punta del Este. Hence I flew straight from Buenos Aires (via Rome and Barcelona) to Norway instead. To put it mildly, it felt very strange to once again wake up in my old bed. But on the other hand, considering the circumstances as well, it was great to see family and all my loco childhood friends.

As you probably have noticed, it's been a fantastic trip, although I didn't get to visit all the continents initially "planned" (I'll get back to that in the next blog or so). For now, lets just say that I still have a few trips left in me. Instead I just spent all my time down in Latin America, as there's no way I wanted to rush through this part of the world without feeling that I have really been there. You may not need 467 days to get that feeling, but then I am sure you could easily travel around Latin America for 934 days as well without getting bored. At least I am sure I could, as in my opinion they have it all.

Before setting out on this journey, I didn't really know for how long I would be away, but figured somewhere between 6 to 18 months. I managed (somehow I don't think managed is the right word to use here, anyway...) 15 months and 14 days, and hence avoided the big "L" on my forehead, phew. To be honest I could have easily gone for much longer, maybe including a short break in Norway before jumping on to New Zealand and/or Asia, but I have other plans as you will soon discover. Well, I don't have much money left so I didn't really have much choice. I guess my next leg will just have to wait (sorry Bangkok Robban).
