I so wish I had a video camera, so I could have shown you this place (not really, let me keep it a secret). My brother and I are celebrating Halloween at Mango's in Medellin. Mango's, a club I had heard rumors about from a few other travelers, so of course we had to check it out. It's Friday night, so we expected a good party, but nothing remotely close to this. Mango's is probably one of the best nightclubs I have ever been to. It's done in cowboy style, a bit like legendary Chilkoot Charlie's in Anchorage (Alaska), only ten times cooler. I guess there's about 600-700 people inside, many of them in stylish or outrageous Halloween costumes (we have everything from nurses and motorbike policewomen to Frankenstein and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre). The music and shows are great, and the girls are out of this world (Babe Central for sure). I have never ever seen so many beautiful girls in one place (all of them were between 7 and 10 according to my brother). So it's difficult to know where to start, except standing paralyzed in the bar watching all the eye candy (I guess the plastic surgeons in Medellin are pretty well off), while at the same time constantly twisting and turning your neck. The time just flies by, and it's frustrating to just watch all the beauties who hardly notice the two only guys dressed in Gringo costumes. I couldn't even put on my beer goggles in this place, as I lost them as soon as I came in the door. In fact, they just vanished before my eyes. And the girls didn't seem to have their beer goggles on either, although I doubt it would have helped with this lot. Maybe if I gave them a welding mask and knights armour on top. So we go home empty handed, having this funny feeling that the party has both been terribly frustrating as well as the best ever. We go to bed that night, both thinking that tomorrow is Saturday. Another Halloween night at Mango's, just a tad bit crazier. Can we take another night of frustration? No..., lets just go to Cartagena for some beach and sun.

Go check out Mango's on a weekend in Medellin, and there's a good change you'll have the party of a lifetime. Medellin you say??? Well, I bet you find it much cooler, friendlier and more modern than you ever imagined (but hey, let's keep it a secret!!!). Personally I'll go back in a heartbeat...
