Choppy water and pissing rain.

It's however time for me to leave Utila after just (everything is relative) six nights and seven days. I really liked Utila, except for the abundance of mosquitoes, sand flies and the relatively dreary weather the last few days
So I didn't get to see the Whale Shark this time around. However I am sure there will be more opportunities over the next few months. The weather got a bit nasty during my four days of diving, making a trip to the choppy waters on the north side of the island rather difficult. Too bad, as the north side is where these amazing creatures like to hang out while surely having a jolly good time. However I managed to finish my "PADI Advanced Open Water" training, so I'm now certified to go down to 30 meters. Something I did of course, well I had to in order to get certified. The coral reefs around here are pretty superb, and there's certainly a lot of strange creatures down there. To name a few, I did see during my eight dives (five dives part of certification and three fun dives); Hawksbill Turtles, Green Moray, Nassau Grouper, Barracudas, Box Jellyfish, Lizzard Fish, Honeycomb Cowfish, Hogfish, Spotted Drumfish, Spotted Trunkfish and the rather uncommon Southern Stargazer. And then I must say that the Halliburton wreck at a depth of about 25-30 meter was an experience as well.
Have to go and sample some brew, I can hear Fats Domino singing the great Blueberry Hill next door, a local theme song on the island of Utila as I believe one of the neighborhoods around here goes by the same name.
