Byron Bay we liked instantly. A great hostel ("Backpackers on the Beach") with a lively young crowd, cheap BBQ and sangria nights, a well kitted out kitchen which is always nice. We checked out the scenic Cape Byron and did a surfing lesson. On our last day we did a day trip to Nimbin with "Jim's Alternative Tours". The coffee shops in this place are straight out of Amsterdam. Jim, the tour guide, did a good job, with a choice shoundtrack playing in the bus and good comentary. He took us to a fruit farm and Nightcap National Park on the way back. We were all agreed - one of the best days of our Oz trip...
