After leaving Mt. Cook we made our way to Dunedin. We had numerous stops along the way to include the Clay Cliffs and Elephant Rocks. The town of Dunedin is beautiful with many old buildings like the railway station in the picture below. We took a tour of the Royal Albatross Center. This is one of only two places in the world where you can actually see the bird in flight. The wingspan was 10 feet!!! HUGE!! We even got to view chicks. All this was viewed from a hide atop Taiaroa Head high above the city. As you can see we also had fun on the Speights Brewery Tour. Drinking the best tap beer we had ever tasted at 12:00 noon!! We went to a yellow eyed penguin preserve too. Check out the picture. This is the rarest penguin in the world.  We viewed them from tunnels and hides!!  Tunnel Beach was fantastic. The tunnel was built through the rock by a wealthy man years ago so his family could enjoy there own private beach. Now owned by the Dept. Of Conservation and free to the public.  While eating lunch on the beach we saw two bull sea lions fighting over the females.  Was just like on National Geographic.  Now on to the Southern Scenic Highway and Fiordland National Park.
