Driving on the road to nowhere

After our trip to Graceland we started making our way to North Carolina. We stopped at a great place called Stone Mountain. It is a large granite mountain a bit like a grey Uluru (Ayers Rock)only the US version has a theme park at the bottom, skylift to the top (for our fat American cousins)and a Macdonalds on top ruining the view of the south. Check out the photos of the view. We arrived yesterday at our friends Jo & Joe's place in Jacksonville and they have very kindly put us up for the night. It was great to have our first decent cup of tea since we arrived in the US (Jo is a Yorkshire lass). Went out to dinner at the Texas steak house and had to bring half of it home with us as the portions are so massive. The waitresses at the Steak House do a weird clappy song if its your birthday and line dance on the hour. It reminded me of the Catherine Tate show! Tomorrow we are returning to Washington and hopefully we will have a chance to look around before we pick up our BMW.
Thats all for now.
