Bike out to the farm right after an early breakfast.
Brother Pad is selling some of the fish from the farm pond and a couple of them are in the water with big nets chasing the fish around.  I know who I am putting my money on !
A deceased baby owl, or certainly a bird of prey, has appeared from somewhere but as nothing ever goes to waste it is being plucked ready for lunch.  I think I'll just have a sandwich thanks !
I cut rice with Jai for about an hour but already can feel the strain going through my dodgy knee so call it a day.  Brother Pad comes to help so I head back to the house.
I give the garden a good soak then sit down with my belated breakfast cuppa.
I take down our rainy season pipes and drainage from the roof which is bound to cause a havy storm to arrive any day now.  I have noted that a cat, or more, has started using the back wall of our rice house as a short cut through to our back garden.  I hang netting around the wall where they climb up and down and will have to keep an eye on it.  Our tomoatoes are looking really good so I knock up a couple of frames to support them when they are bigger.  There are some advantages to having an almost limitless supply of bamboo to hand.
Jai want to prick out some more cabbage plants this evening so I prepare the ground and give it a good soaking in readiness.
One of Jai's nieces, Norng Gluay - literally Little Banana - comes and spends the afternoon with me as an escape from the school sports.  I leave her strecthed out on the sette watching TV and she looks quite happy.
I bike out to the farm about 16:30 and make another token effort at cutting some rice.  I stay clearing grass from the dead bamboo until they have had enough and Jai is ready to leave.
By the time we have got back to the house, showered and changed, it is dark and the cabbages will have to wait.
