We have a lot to do today so we take a few minutes to write down a shopping and to-do list.
Jai visits a house where their son is becomming a monk today.  I was supposed to be going as well but as we were leaving the house we bumped into Jai's sister and the sloth from next door so Jai went with them instead - suited me fine.
When she returned we bike into Phon Thong.  Shopping finished and we are ready to come back to Khamnadie and the bike wont start.  Get a young lad to have a go for me  in case I just dont have the strength left to kick it over but he has no joy either.  I push it to a local garage where they clean out the fuel pump, put it all back together again and it seems fine.  A couple more stops and it restarts OK and we get back to Khamnadie about 11:30 by which time it is scorchio !!
A few more jobs to do this afternoon but when I get the bike out it is dead again.  This mornings effort was obviously a waste of time although it did enable us to get back to the village.  Jai disappears to play cards leaving me with the bike to sort out.  I push it across the village to a garage where he takes a quick look, tells me he cant do anything with it and that it will need to go to the Honda garage in Phon Thong.  Now, how to get it there ?  I phone John who comes over on his bike and we borrow a piece of rope from the garage and he tows me.  Quite a scary trip but we arrive at the Honda place intact if a little sweaty.  The mechanic strips the bike down checking everything and finally declares the fuel pump deceased.  They dont have any in stock and tell me it will take about a week if they order one.  I leave in a few days time and a week is a week too long.  At least his work has cleaned it up again and it starts OK and is fine to ride back to the house without having to go through the ordeal of being towed again.
Buy a couple of beers upon arrival at Khamnadie and we sit and drown my sorrows together.  When John leaves I try the bike again but it has died already and wont be seeing action again now before September.
Whilst we are eating this evening the make-a-monk procession passes slowly and noisily.  I have offered to go the party with Jai tonight, against my better judgement, but after we have eaten she decides that she doesnt really want to go at all which is good news for me.
