Jai's son, Boy, arrived here in Khamnadie early this morning but looking on the bright side he went to his wife's family's house and not to ours so things cant be too bad.
I take Jai out to the farm and find that Boy is there already.  Story is that he just wanted to see his daughter and help with the rice and will be going back to Bangkok in a coupleof days ... ?
My knee is hurting again today so forme it is back to the house and put my feet up with a book.
I bike over to George's mid-morning to pass sometime then cook myself some lunch.  This self catering lifestyle isnt all its cracked up to be !  Out the back garden with a book in the afternoon until its time to return to the farm.
They have finished cutting the rice and it is all lying around in the fields drying off now.  Jai was in the process of watering the trees already.
Fin has her dad with her tonight so doesnt want to come back to thehouse with us.
German John passed the house after we had eaten.  He has finally managed to buy a piece of land he has been after and has been working clearing it.  Unaccustomed to hard labour he is now aching everywhere - sounds familiar !
I have been told by phone and e-mail that I have upset a certain niece back in the UK by planting palm oil trees.  I would like to assure her, and everyone else, that we did not have to engage in any deforestation to make room for them and we have not displaced any orang-utans in the process !!!  If there were any orang-utans here they would probably be using their superior IQs to teach at the village school or stand for mayor - but no, we dont have any- the locals have eaten them all already !!!!!
