. We dont bother re-ordering and Jai buys something off the street to take back to the room with us. We phone our usual taxi driver, Mr Noi, who will come and collect us later but we still have 3 hours to kill. Check-out at 20:00, buy a snack at 7/11. Mr Noi comes a little early and we are at the airport by 20:50. EgyptAir check-in is not yet open but we only have to wait about 20mins. There have been stories about how long it has been taking people to clear passport control and at check-in we are warned that it could take an hour or so. 10mins later, however, all is behind us and we are in the departure lounge, waiting again. A box of orchids for mum and a bottle of Dior for Jai and we are sat near our departure gate about 22:00 with 3 more hours to wait.

Jai phones around her friends to say goodbye and her daughter is going to do something with our phones so that we can keep the same SIMs and numbers for when we come back next year. Its a real pain having to start from scratch each year and notify everyone so if this comes off it will be a great help. Fingers crossed anyway. Wander to a local Tourist Information Office for some magazines to read and back to our noodle shop for lunch. Jai retires to the TV and me to the internet. Another hot day. Mid-afternoon we go and collect Jai's dress and change the last of my money to deposit at the bank. Still can't get used to paying the bank to take my money from me !! Go and sit in the park by the river for a while people watching then stop for something to eat on our way back to the guesthouse. I am sat eating mine and waiting for Jai's meal to arrive biut it doesnt come. It turns out the chap who took the order only wrote down my food and has since finished his shift and left
