We surely woke up in paradise today, the sun was shining and breakfast was waiting on the waterfront. We let the food settle while relaxing in the hammocks for half an hour, they are so comfortable and so far we haven't had any disasters trying to get in or out of them.

The water is so still protected from the ocean by small islands of mangrove trees just perfect for kayaking. Claire wasn’t up for it, she had enough in Bali. I did venture out though speeding through the water followed by more relaxing and a dip in the pool to cool off. I just don't know how either of us are going to be able to settle back into ordinary life again.

By this time it was approaching lunch time and we set off down the road towards Key West although knowing we would never go that far. We are about 90 miles from Key West, there are mile markers along the road so you know exactly how far along you are. The road had a nice feel to it, you are never far from the coast either side as all they Keys are narrow strips of land all joined with bridges. We stopped off a few times for photos and sat on the edge dangling our feet in the clear water. There is not really a beach, the water just comes straight up to the land.

We turned around at the 74 mile marker and headed back. We found a good looking seafood restaurant along the way and Claire decided we were going to be brave and try something new. Neither of us are really into seafood but every time we try it we love it (With the exception of Paella in Barcelona).

We sat up at the bar and read the menu, Claire started to wish she hadn’t said about trying something new now, however, she was brave. I went for the Cajun shrimp sandwich and Claire had the Tuna. Both turned out to be really nice, especially the Tuna steak, nothing like it comes out of the can!! Of course being in America it filled the plate with fries and salad. Good job we didn’t choose the bigger meals.

We sat next to an older American couple who we chatted to, they were asking us about our trip and afterwards they said that they were wondering how come two college kids were on a round the world trip. Either this trip is making us look younger or their guide dogs were outside!!!!

We came back to our room for the afternoon to make the most of the sun and relaxed some more by the pool. I have been trying to capture a picture of the Pelicans in flight, they have been teasing me I’m sure. Every time I see them in flight I haven’t got my camera ready, as soon as I pick up the camera they land on the water.
