. It was about as close as you get to early Saturday morning infomercial...NICE! Oh quick thing, there was this Indian family behind us and the one guy said " I don't want any ice cream, I don't want to get a headache" seriously...people that think that are not going to get along with me...I mean who doesn't eat ice cream sheesh! So we wandered around and took some pictures, but riding on the train and taking the garden tour was a little too much. Oh did I mention that it was RAINING! So we hopped in the car and headed towards the North Shore. We went to the Hawaiian Audobon Center in the Mountains and toured it..IN THE RAIN...while taking pics of lots of flowers and streams and even a waterfall. It was beautiful! Oops back track...we pulled into the lot there and were nearly swarmed by odd looking geese that would not let us back up and pull ahead. I was too funny....good one..I'll tell that one again later.
Ok, so we get back to the North shore and IT"S STILL RAINING. We go to Haleiwa Joe's this great place on the water that Jenn V. just raved about. So we have our pupu's and beer and then decided to stay for dinner. We both order good fish...way GOOD! As we are sitting there, I pretty much stare at all the people around. There is a very large family from the midwest that went thru multiple baskets of bread and I am thinking that the women sounded like men. There was this family with this exotic woman (Persian I think) and 3 kids. The dad was some kind of uberdork that ordered for the whole family so they each got one thing. Example: dad fillet, mom fish something, girl shrimp, boy 1 salad, boy 2 potato. I was in awe and then the family of the year came in...there was a mama that had Baby Phat clothes on and dad in a silk shirt with there little gangsta kids...I mean seriously I was almost caught gaulking! So in the mean time I was trying to drink the stiffest Mai Tai made on Hawaii, so much so that I had to have 2 more glasses of juice to put in it. I am a woosie, yes I know. Oh and the dessert, well lets just say the I took the before picture, and there was no use in taking another one because I don't want to be reminded of how much I ate! Goodness. So now we are home and ready for bed. I am sure that there will be more stories, I am just wooped now!
Ok, So I did not dream of geckos or even the monster spider, but I think it may be a theme here that things need to crawl near us and almost eat us...more on that later. My morning started after a finally decent night of sleep here. I awoke to find out that my mom had fallen on her "bum" and was a bit sore. Hope you are feeling better Michelle! So I looked outside and saw some sun, but there were a lot of clouds. So I lathered up and headed outside with book number 5 and sat out between rain drops. I got ready after an exhausting round of sun bathing and headed into work with Amiee. I played on the computer while she worked and then we headed out to have an adventure. Well, our first stop was the Dole pineapple plantation. I guess the entire country of Japan was there at the same time and the only person that was speaking English besides Amiee and I was the woman doing a cutting demonstration. I so wanted to watch, but for fear that I may start a riot if I got out of the dole whip line, I stayed there with Amiee and "pined" to watch
