Its 52 degrees with showers in Swansea. Chilly like fall but still nice. My schedule is all set up. I am taking Spanish for beginners, Language Acquistion (a psychology class), and Childhood across Time and Cultures. I've got 3 classes Tuesday and 2 on Wednesday and Thursday. AKA, a 5 day weekend every week. Awesome for traveling. Now to find some cheap trips.
I also want to do the Ultimate Frisbee team, teach English as a foriegn language to refugees, join a volenteer group, do Amnesty International, French Society and Yoga Club. I think I have to cut some of thoes back though. French Society holds wine and cheese socials which sounds hard to pass up. Frisbee I really cant think of dropping. Teaching English is a really unique expirence.. I guess thats what I should narrow it down to. It cost about 7 GBP to join Ulitmate, French society is 2 GBP I think and EFL is free.
Now to work on my applications for the spring programs. How in the world I'll decide on one of those, I have no idea. I'm applying to 4 in France, one in Australia, and one in the Netherlands.
At the Freshers Fayre (aka Freshmen Fair) today, I was talking to a representive from a multicultural group. He asked where I was from and I told him New York. His immediate reply was "Oh so you dont speak any other languages?" My life goal is to get rid of that assumption. I told him I spoke some French and was taking Spanish. His surprise made my day.
