We woke up for another early continental breakfast at 8:15 AM. It was nice to have a long breakfast, we sat and talked and I learned about my family's history. Aunt Rosemary, and the life of Grandma's Mom.. I need to ask Grandma to write it all down for us. I like seeing things though her eyes, and hearing her commentary. I'm glad we're taking this trip together. ☺
After breakfast, it went downhill for a bit. Three hours of struggling to work out the double booking and Swansea arrangements.. trying with no avail to find some free wireless. The internet time at the café ran out as grandma finished on the phone with hotels.com, nothing had really been resolved.
Then I had the most amazing waffle of my life.
Sorry Letchworth, this was too good. Soft on the inside and just hard enough on the outside, with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Oh man, I'm gonna have to go back for that tomorrow.
After that, things were looking up. We found free wireless at a hotel down the street. It took me by surprise how relived that made me feel. So much information at my fingertips, and being able to contact people at home and at Swansea.
So then we went to get tickets for a play. We got tickets for Spamalot and then got food a pub across the street. Grandma got Fish and Chips so I tried it, it was okay but I don't think I'd order that myself. We went to see the Rosetta Stone at the British Muesuem and caught it just before it closed. Then we went back and saw the show. It was great, and made me miss MTC! I listened to the applause at the end and wondered when will be the next time I'll see a show. The Lady of the Lake was played by Hanna Waddinghan - I was really blown away by her. She was great. Then we took the bus home which became an adventure but we made it in the end. Another nice ride atop the double decker bus. When we got out at the Underground stop near our hotel, it was raining. My first taste of London rain.
Not much in the mood for writing right now. Its 9 past midnight, time to wrap it up. (ha, its 6 PM in NY).
