Where I stayed

Departed NY at 7:00 PM EST (or 1:00 AM LDN) arrived this morning around 6:30 LDN .. got out of customs around 8:00.. got on the train got to the hotel around 10:00..

Two Worries:
1)  Customs. I can only stay in the UK for 6 months. That ends in March. If I do a second study abroad, I may need to return to the US before doing so in order to get entry clearance. Eep! I'm looking into this and hopefully I can send someone into the city to the embassy to get my visa. I really dont know how all this works, and it scares me. I'd also like to be settled somewhere and I'd probably feel better.
2) Double Booking. This has since been resolved (hopefully). Somehow we made reservations through 2 different booking agents, and thus had 2 reservations. One reservation we just cancelled online and hopefully wont be fined for that.

And now since THAT's out of my system -- LONDON IS BEAUTIFUL and the weather is great. We spent the morning (between 10 arrival at the hotel and 14:00 check-in time) walking around looking for an internet cafe where we could get online to cancel the reservation. We walked through Hyde Park and saw Kensington Castle, where Princess Di's mourners gathered after her death. We also went to Marx & Spensers, a department store with gormet  groceries too. I <3 Grocery Stores. I also really like outdoor food stands, like the one I bought a banana from today.

The weather is literally perfect. (Perhaps not if you're doing hardcore cardio, such as lugging a 40 lb suitcase, two 20 lb carry-ons and a purse up and down subway -- or the tube -- stairs.) But otherwise, there's a little breeze, the sky is blue, its comfortable with or without my fleece on. There is a hint of fall in the air and I like it.

The best thing I did on the flight was take Tylenol PM before leaving. I took it at midnight LDN time (6:00 EST), and by 5:00 AM LDN or so on the flight I was alert again. AND I slept away most of the flight and my teeth didnt hurt!

Not sure what's planned for tomorrow.

Seeing other travellers (there are 2 hostels right near Byron Hotel where we're staying) makes me really excited to meet people. Ha, I don't even know who I'm living with in Wales. Somewhere though, these people exist! And in less than a week, we'll be living together!
