17 miles. Staying at Toms Runs Shelter.  It was sad leaving Jon
to go home and me continue walking north. At 1st I wanted to go home
with him for a break but after my 4 days off I'm ready to start
pushing north again. Really flat today didn't see too many people.  But I
did see a lot of tasty blueberry's!!!! I'm camping with a boyscout troop
real close. Should be a fun night

hiked 22 miles to Boiling Spring, PA.  Stayed at the Allen berry.
Can't recall too much from that day.  I woke up early and did all the
miles by 4pm. Then I watched the Celtics lose.

the Allen berry was so nice I stayed twice!  $25 a night and a
breakfast and dinner buffet.  Met up with AD there and hung out with
him all day.

hiked 27 miles to make it to Dun cannon PA and the infamous Doyle
hotel. Hiked though a lot of farms and field today.  I made it to the
Doyle by 7pm.  Checked in an ordered dinner ans beer.  Nobody was
there waiting for me!  He slack packed south to watch LA beat Boston.
I also met up with Thin mint, Creepy, Green dog and also Barnabas.  I
have seen him in over 700 miles!

10 miles. Staying at Peters Mountain Shelter.  Hiking when your
tired and hungover really sucks!  These 10 were the hardest I've had
to do in a while. We had a big climb to start then we were on a
exposed ridge and got beaten by the sun.   But anyways early to bed.
Nobody is 18 miles ahead and I will catch him

17 miles.  Staying at Rausch Gap Shelter. Slept really good
last night in my tent.  Hiked quick in the am and chilled in the
afternoon.  Still really hot.  My knee was sore today. Hiked though
some old mining camps.  Been hiking on old railroad beds and old roads
real nice hiking.  I did hear a lot of automatic gun fire and low
flying choppers.  Some locals said there's a army base around here.
I'm glad the army is keeping the woods safe from terrorists!  Sleeping
in the shelter tonight.  There's a lot of people here.  Fathers and
sons.  One of the guys is playing a good guitar and harmonica.

17.5 miles staying at the 501 shelter.  This shelter has a shower
and doors.  It's really nice there's a lot of thru hikers here. We
ordered pizza for supper. The shelter is by the road. But to go back
to this am.  I slept crappy.  We had some trail magic this am.  Jay- Z
was cooking burgers at 0830.  I had 3 cheese burgers 2 soda's and some
chips.  Then I had a big climb on a real hot and humid day. It
sucked!  After the climb the rest of the day was hot and humid and
water was scarce.  I hiked with Skippy this am.  He work in drug
research and is from NC.  Later I hiked with Itrod a M.D. from PA.
When I got to the shelter creepy and Nobody were here!  So I'll hike
out with them in the morning to Port Clinton. 25 miles up the trail

25 miles staying at the port Clinton pavilion in town.  Woke up
early started at 0630.  Did 15 miles before lunch.  Real rocky but
pretty flat though. 90 degrees today again!  Ended up in port
Clinton.  I met up with nobody, creepy, thin mint, and Skippy. They
were chillin on Fred and his wife's front porch. They are trail
angels!  They made some hikers supper, gave some beers, and drove some
of us to Wendy's.  What nice people!!  I'm staying in town under the
town pavilion with Skippy and freight train (he snores really loud!).
Good night

zero day. My knee was getting sore and I just hiked 97 miles in 4
days so it was time for a break. Stayed at the port Clinton hotel.
The was a sign on the door to take your own trash out an to bring your
towels downstairs.  There was a $10 deposit on the key and the towel.
