hiked a short day r/t the rain! 15 miles is a short day. Stayed at
the Rod Hollow shelter.  Nobody ran ahead.  I'll meet him in Harper
ferry sat morning.  I left the Jetts this morning with two huge
sandwiches that made a great lunch. Everyone was jealous! The rain
started at 1 and rained an thundered hard.  Some sounded real close!
I'll have a big day tomorrow over the roller coaster! 10 mountain peaks
in 13 miles can't wait for the fun!

22 miles stayed at David Lesser Memorial shelter. Last night was
tough in the shelter was this guy named growler bear. He is the worst/
loudest snorer ever made!  And there was his buddy Cashmere he talks in
his sleep. What a pair so needless to say I set my tent up in the dark at 11pm. I
was also the first to leave camp.  I wanted a early start so I
wouldn't have to deal with the noise again!  So when your the first
one to leave camp you end up eating spider webs.  During the night
spiders weave webs across the trail. They all tend to be head high!
One of the disadvantages of leaving early.
So today was the roller coaster it lived up to it's name.  What a long
(12hours), tough day! Saw a couple deer and a large box turtle. I left
Virgina!!! I've been here since April 21! I'm in WV now for 13
miles.  I also crossed the thousand mile mark but I didn't see it

short day. Only 9 miles into Harpers ferry.  Met up with Nobody!
Went to the Appalachian trail headquarters. Got my picture taken and
put in the book. Now I'm part of the trail history.  I was hiker
number 252 when I started and in harpers ferry I was number 224 at the
ceremonial half way point.  Jon Horrigan comes tomorrow. It will be
nice to see a familiar face again!
