i had a Good time at the NOC. got to meet zip code's wive Debra. what a sweet lady.
now I'm at mile marker 162.6!  I'm taking Monday off and Tuesday we'll (the hooligans) head into the great smokie mountains!
so on 3/26 it was cold and rained again. what a surprise!  had a tough climb 6.9 miles all up hill.  really we climbed all day.  the shelter was full and we were all in bed by 630pm.
3/27  got up early. the ground was frozen. we hiked 15.2 miles.  last night jasper a golden retriever slept next to me and kept his head on my legs.  it was soo cold i was happy he kept me warm.  grateful his owner is a 6'6'' red head form Texas. a real good guy. while hiking the clouds were hanging in the low land areas it was really cool.  i hiked with jasper and grateful. jasper was so funny he'd run up and check on me then he'd run back to check on his owner. the silly dog did this most of the day until he was tucked out. i fell today thank god i caught a tree. all i had was a scrapped shin and a bruised ego.  i met will and way today (where there's a will there's a way). former though hikers who hooked us up with some trail magic!.
3/28  had to pack up in the rain today. not very fun. : (   then we hiked into Fontana a short day.  now i,m at the hotel. i had fried bologna for lunch. thanks moon pie.  now I'm headed to the room for a second shower.  i don't feel clean from the 1st one. then have a couple of beers and watch the Celts on espn.  trail life is tough!

Way to go Stephen! I'm sure your ears were ringing this weekend. We were all chatting about you at the Innitou's. We are so proud of ya! IceBar was a great turn out, we missed you, maybe one of these years you will be able to make it to IceBar. :o)
What's this trail magic you're talking about? Is it what I think it is?
Keep up the good work! GO HOOLIGANS!!!!

Sounds like you are having a great time. I want a table of contents on those trail magic cookies and if i approve i'll want the recipe also. We are all loving your blog and i want to see more pics if you could and i know it takes a lot of time and space. Cant wait for you to get up our way so we can have a big bash for you and the holligans. Dont worry we'll get Mike and Dave to get the turkey frier going. I'll make something special for the rest of your trip.
