We phoned the Bazbus this morning and found that the next bus to Mossell Bay was fully booked, new year has totally thrown us off-track. After considering hiring a car for around 150GBP we settled on getting the Intercape bus for approx 35GBP straight to Oudtshoorn , skipping Mossell Bay, we've booked the tickets and are back on track.

And so, on to Table Mountain, the weather was a bit sketchy but the queue time was around twenty minutes so we gambled. We got in a taxi avec seatbelts, very plush. The cablecars, though a little daunting, do give excellent views of the entire city but the views from the top are simply stunning. We managed to get the money-shot of the city without any cloud cover. However, the table cloth well and truly came after about ten minutes, we were engulfed in cloud, which in a way was quite an experience and gave fragmented views of the city.

We were gutted not to see any Dassie (over-sized guinea pigs native to Table Mountain and strangely the closest living relative to the elephant), apparently a combination of bad weather and threat of Black Eagles scared the little critters out of sight, but nonetheless we really enjoyed the trip, despite the cold winds. Now we've conquered Table Mountain, I feel we can move on from CT having seen the main attractions it has to offer (except Robben Island, fully booked up to 6th Jan). Bring on Oudtshoorn, Ostrich capital of the world!
