A new day, a new bus and a new bus driver, Smilie.
We drive to the stunning Lake Rotoiti which is surrounded by snow capped mountains and native bush. We took a short walk in the neighbouring forest which is alive with bird life.
Steph and I have a lazy afternoon with a long siesta, shunning the chance to go jet boating (which didn't turn out to be that good anyway as it didn't go fast as there were children on board).
The first settlers in Westport were lured to the area by the promise of gold later by the promise of coal when the metal ran out.
Rob went out in the evening with the majority of the group to go mullet spotting in the local pubs, whilst I stayed in with a few of the other girls, watched a movie and sat by the very warm fire!
