Today we caught up on some much-needed sleep, and especially since we experienced an odd 3am interruption at our new hotel. The front desk called saying that we needed to let some staff into our room to inspect the water as a floor below us had some coming through the ceiling. James promptly called the front desk to make sure it was them who placed the call. Anyway, it only took 2 minutes, but we had to try to sleep again.

The day started with yet another coffee (1oz espresso for 3€) in another cool café, called Café Schwarzenbug. We then went to check out one of the remaining Flakturms, which are leftover Nazi anti-aircraft towers in the middle of neighbourhoods. Simply amazing to see and think about. This one, however, is now home to the city aquarium.

We then walked some of the ringstraße,which is the ring road around downtown. There is some history on that but we'll spare you the details. We headed to the tram out to meet our new friend Leonie from the bus tour, who lives in vienna. She took us to a beautiful park called Heaven which is just out of town and overlooks the city. We enjoyed some time there along with her dog. After that she took is to a local authentic restaurant with an outdoor courtyard where we ate some delicious sausage and mixed meat and potato dish. (At this point we haven't had anything other than pork in days)

She dropped us off close to downtown, where we wandered the streets with locals and tourists, as it is a holiday today. Looked for souvenirs to buy, but plain old Steph and James can't find anything that is actually worth buying.
We then came home to prep for our two last countries tomorrow. And just when James has figured out the German basics, to come are two more languages.
