We said goodbye to our tour group and took a cab to the airport to catch a flight to Vienna.

The flight was about 2 hrs and by the time we took the metro to our hotel, it was about 4:00. Thanks to Lee for setting us up with a friend of his, Terris, who lives in Vienna. Terris met us at the hotel and took us for a walking tour through the downtown and gave us a lot of information on the history of the city and buildings. Beautiful city and buildings. Then we went to a small restaurant for some authentic Austrian cuisine - potatoes, cabbage, sausage, and of course schnitzel. It was quite tasty and affordable too. So far France takes the cake for expensive-ness of everything. We are glad to be in more affordable countries now.

Steph wasn't feeling well tonight, so she headed back to Hotel Beethoven (thanks to Jeff for the recommendation) while James and Terris stayed out to continue the introduction to Vienna.

This is the first time we are really feeling challenged with the language (German) and find it very handy to have a guide.

Jim and Sandy on

Steph and James
We envy you and miss you! Glad you are enjoying. Sandy will be home tomorrow and asks about your blogs each day. Andrew follows them as well , we discussed on the phone yesterday. The cats are fine and fun, we play a bit each time I'm there. They are happy to see me, then I serve them dinner and they bugger off.
See you Sunday!
