As if this wasn't tight enough to set our blood pressure high to begin with our plane was 30min late departing from Xi'an. It was almost as if China needed to have one last dig at us before we left.
As we boarded the plane were advised that "Due to the over booking of the Hainan Corridor, the Chinese Aviation authorities have asked us to stay grounded for the next 15min." 15min turned into to 30 and we were super relieved to be taking off.
We spent the rest of the flight to Seoul alternating between super excited to be going home and super anxious about making our connecting flight! At least we left the country experiencing the same crazy swings in emotions that we arrived with! Poetic really.
When we landed in Seoul we were hustled off the plane by the air hostesses and were escorted to our connecting flight which was graciously waiting for us. We ended up sprinting the length of the terminal with our carry on, going through our own private security check and then sprinting the length of the terminal again. We were super relieved to make it to our seats on the plane.
It had been one hell of an adventure but finally we were going home!
