Once again a there has been a bit of a gap between blogs.  Life is not so exciting now and the things we do no longer seem blog worthy- thus taking a couple of weeks to accumulate events to write about!

Last week we had a day/night out with the staff from Aocheng. We met most of our TAs and the other foreign teachers at KTV (karaoke) in the afternoon where we proceeded to sing our throats raw (to the likes of Britney Spears, Boyzone, Lady Gaga, Westlife, Katy Perry etc.- Evan and Tony do a great "seasons in the sun" rendition!) before going out to dinner. Going out for dinner with Chinese friends is great because you can let them do the ordering and just try bits of everything- they order things that we would never try, but turn out to be delicious.  Eggplant has recently topped my favourite vegetable list- I'm not sure how it is cooked or with what, but every eggplant dish I have had here has been amazing.  I must find out how to cook it northern Chinese style before we leave.

After dinner we decided to go and watch a movie before later going to the local club Si Tong.  However on the way one of our TA's purse was snatched a out of her hand and stolen.  It was quite a downer and a wake up call for us.  We had been told that that area was bad for pick pockets, but had never seen it ourselves. While the TAs sorted the stolen purse, we headed to the local bar Helens to meet with the other foreign teachers.  Later we met back up with the TAs at Si Tong. It was great to have a night out with the Chinese Staff from work- other centers have quite a divide between foreign and Chinese staff, but we have no issues!  The next day we had a pot luck at work and it was really funny to hear how they had enjoyed the night before. One of my TAs told me that she had never had such a "wild night".  I would like to point out that we were home by 1, hardly drank anything, but this was the first time that said TA had danced at a bar- making it a wild night!  I was glad they all had fun though, we certainly enjoyed ourselves!  Susan took some photos which we will upload if we can get a hold of them.

Our Chinese lessons have become progressively harder since we are practicing for HSK2, and we need to put in a bit more effort to pass with the type of marks we are used to. They are still good though, and our speaking has improved a lot I think with having a few conversation classes each week too.

We have also decided to do some physical activity to offset the laziness and bad diet of the last four months.  We have started  playing badminton twice a week with some other foreign teachers.  It is heaps of fun and gives us a good workout. It also gets very competitive- giving a good ab workout from all the laughing we also do!

In other news, no one wants to cut my hair. Apparently it is too hard or something.  I think they get scared because of the color.  Also we have booked flight for Athens on the 7th of November. Super excited.
