The Town of Banff is on official flood watch as of last night said the signs posted in my building. The road along where I live is closed today with sandbags and cement barricades set up to stop the water. Rain has been in the forecast for the last 3 days, but so far nothing has happened. Quite strange weather really. It's been 25-30C the last few days and then thunderstorm and rain forecasts but nothing. If it rains we are certainly in for a nasty little flood. Ever since May long weekend and the rain we got then, then river has just been continually rising. The path I usually walk, Fenland Trail along the river was flooded two days ago when I went to walk the loop. Then today I don't think I would even head down there. It's unreal how high it is. Apparently as high as it's been in years and years. I took some pics earlier and I will try and post them later tomorrow. I have a full day off tomorrow but am working at the Liquor Store in a few minutes. So it works out that in the 31 days after May 8th, I will have had two full days off only
Alright 10:20 right now. Done work for the night. Pretty slow really. Got a little mini bottle of icewine to try since it's so famous and I get asked so many questions about it I thought I might as well try it. Strange thing is that the stuff we stock comes from Niagara region rather than B.C. Strange one.
Off work totally tomorrow so as long as it's not raining I am for sure heading down to the Bow Falls again to see how crazy the flow is. Should be impressive. Hopefully next week I will manage TWO whole days off of both jobs and head in to Calgary. I need to do some serious staples shopping and the fun kind as well. Whatever I can hit up in one day or two if I stay for the night. Figure that out later, but shopping in Banff is not cool. Everything is ridiculously expensive here because of all the tourists obviously.
New job at the hotels is going really well. Making friends with the people who work there which is great. Everyone there is really really cool thankfully. There was a wee BBQ last week and then everyone went out to town afterwards and I've gone out a few other times after work with some of the girls
I made my first reservation last night at work and answered a few calls too. That's always the last step when I start new jobs. Phones. I think I mentioned it a month or so ago from my first job. I need to know what I am talking about before I can tell people what they want to know. So it's getting there anyways.
Next week a girl and I from work are going on a little horseback riding BBQ night. It's a familiariztion trip from one of the companies in town for front end staff. Everyone seems to be doing them at this time of the year. Might try and squeeze in a rafting trip if one comes along, but snagged the horseback trip so that should be awesome. I haven't done anything here yet. The hotel also has a company canoe pass so I can take out the pass anytime it's available and go out for a canoe ride which is sweet. Really looking forward to this summer now. Much more now that things feel in place so much more than they had. When something is just not right, it's not fair to anyone involved to wait around for something to change when you know it's not.
That's about all I got right now. Like I said I will post some pics tomorrow of the river, falls, animals and such when I get the chance. Take care and TTYS. Cheers!

. Two days out of 31. Yeah I am certainly nuts. Indeed. Gotta run to work, but will write a wee bit more tonight.Alright 10:20 right now. Done work for the night. Pretty slow really. . Also got together with the girls I used to work with at the Resort so that was nice to get togther and such. Even though I am working ridiculous hours I am still getting out and having somewhat of a life aside from working all the time. I will not compromise on that part even if it mean sacrificing sleep to do it. I am pretty much caught up now though. It's funny how if I am only working at either the hotel or the liquor store in one day, it almost feels like I have a day off. 60hrs+ or not.I made my first reservation last night at work and answered a few calls too.
